SERVICES

The Laurentian Council is dedicated to providing the following services and assistance to communities in the Laurentian area:

  • Promote watershed Best Management Practices by assisting watershed groups in achieving their goals.
  • Educate the public regarding the Firewise Program.
  • Educate the public regarding sewage treatment issues.
  • Improve GIS information transfer.
  • Promote forestry/agriculture/agroforestry.
  • Promote Best Management Practices through education of all ages.

Laurentian is also active in promoting and encouraging economic opportunities for residents of Northeastern Minnesota by:

  • Partnering with area agencies to encourage economic development.
  • Assisting community groups/individuals to create and develop economic opportunities.
  • Partnering with area agencies to encourage economic development.

Laurentian supports and promotes the Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D) Program in Minnesota, the Northern Central Region, and in the United States.
